Nice tour of the historical Ypres area, the Flanders Field were a great site to view where we can remember the World war i and World War ii memories. As you go along touring,you can pass many historical Hotels in the Ypres area,and one of them is called Ambrosia hotel. A family hotel ocated near Menin gate and Cloth hall. Have a look at many historical hotels near Ypres. Excellent blog!

Yes, we have visited the brewery in Achouffe quite a number of times in the past. And it is a regular stop when I come through the area. And I’ll probably be back there in December when I go to Bastogne for the Battle of the Bulge Historical march.
In previous years we would plan our Chouffe weekend at Moulin de Renziwez which is a bit to the south of Houffalize (at the location where the Battle of the Bulge ended).

When we return next year I might take you up on your offer to meet Mr Bauweraerts. In the mean time I’ll definitely enjoy the Chouffe AND duvel.

Let me try this again. I think my last message was eaten by electronic gremlins.
I’m sure you know you’re about 36 miles from Achouffe? I was just over for the Grand Choufferie, 25th anniversary party. I’m with DuvelUSA / Brewery Ommegang in NY. We import Chouffe to US.

If you ever want an introduction to Chris Bauweraerts, one of the two people who run Achouffe, let me know. He’s a great guy. Besides making and drinking beer, he loves eating and flying model airplanes. And jokes.

Ik zit nu op mijn werk en bedacht me ineens… Verrek, Rick is vandaag jarig! Dus… ik had je willen mailen maar ik heb je emailadres niet bij de hand. Ik zie nu pas die Chouffe foto’s. Leuk joh, zag er gezellig uit! Grappig om een aantal gezichten daar te zien die ik al heeeeeeeeee lang niet meer gezien had! Ben zelf niet zo’n spelletjesfreak dus ik had waarschijnlijk overgeslagen maar ik denk dat jij het wel naar je zin hebt gehad toch?
