Stretch and Yawn
It’s been a while since my last post so I guess it’s time to update. Okay, first things first,
Thanks again to the people who rate the pictures on my site. It’s great to feel appreciated.
Next up, thanks for the comment Midnight Marieke, I’ve been faithfully reading your blog so far. Great way to keep in touch with your friends. If only some other people would post some more comments here ![]()
My sister is currently on a 3-month holiday in Kenya, where she’s helping around at the Concordia Primary school. As children can get a free education since 2005 the number of students has gone through the roof, almost literally. She and my dad run a foundation to help this particular school, by building classrooms and providing electricity, water and some food.
Anyway, I have been given the task of building the website for the “Kinderen van Kenya” foundation. So far I’ve been a slacker concerning this little job….I really should get my butt in gear on this (as I pay for the domain name and webspace).
In other news, work is progressing on the jeep. I went to the Militaria Fair in Ciney and picked up 200 Euro worth of spares and accessoiries. And plans have been made up to restore the Dutch Bantam Trailer that’s supposed to go behind it.
All in all the jeep is holding up pretty well, it withstood over a 300km worth of trips in the last month. It is using a lot of oil, but an engine rebuild is in the works. And I’m working on getting various little things fixed, like that fuel guage. It’ll keep me busy for a long while.
Spent a day out with the Friends of the Timberwolves and the Veterans of the 104th Timberwolves Infantry Division on the 28th of October. Visited the various locations where these men fought. The visit to Maxburg castle was a noteworthy event. It was a German HQ during the war. Maxburg has been recently restored to its former glory and is now a beautiful Bed & Breakfast. It was a great tour and I had a lot of fun, I’m sure the veterans had as well. I need to sort through those pictures and put them up.
Current favorite webcomic is Talismen by Barb Jacobs and Steven P. Jones. Wonderful artwork and a interesting intermingling storyline between reality and a fantasy world….which is which I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
I’ve been listening to Lemuria and Sirius-B by Therion a lot lately.
